NBA Betting Predictions – March 4th, 2013

Yesterday’s record: 2-0
This month’s record: 6-1
Last month’s record: 21-20
January’s record: 34-42
December’s record: 41-45
November’s record: 36-20
Season to date record: 138-128

2 blowouts equaled 2 correct picks yesterday as the Kings won by 36 and the Grizzlies won by 26. I wish every day was like that! I like 2 games this evening and I’m taking a risk by picking against the exact same 2 teams I picked against yesterday.

Orlando Magic @ New Orleans Hornets

The Orlando Magic were blown out for the 3rd time in their last 5 games last night in a 108-82 loss at home versus Memphis. It was their 7th loss at home by 20 or more points. The Magic are 4-7 on the road against Western Conference opponents. The New Orleans Hornets snapped a 2 game losing streak with a 100-95 win at home versus Detroit on Friday night. The win was their 4th win in their last 7 home games. This is the 2nd of a 3 game home stand for the Hornets. New Orleans was victorious at Orlando 97-94 in their first meeting this season. The Magic are 2-8 in the 2nd game of a back to back and all 8 losses have been by 9 or more points. Looking at that stat tells me that the Hornets should cover. Take the Hornets -8.5.

Charlotte Bobcats @ Portland Trail Blazers

The Charlotte Bobcats were outscored 43-19 in the 3rd quarter in last night’s 119-83 defeat at Sacramento. The loss was their 6th in a row. This is the final game of 4 game Western Conference road trip in which the Bobcats have been beaten by an average of 29 points in the first 3 games. The Portland Trail Blazers notched their 27th win of the season in a 109-94 home victory versus Minnesota on Saturday night. The win was their 2nd in the last 3 games. The Blazers are 7-4 at home versus Eastern Conference opponents. Portland was victorious in overtime 118-112 at Charlotte in their first meeting this season. The Bobcats have lost their last 5 games by an average of 26 points per game so I see no reason why the Blazers won’t cover tonight. Take the Trail Blazers -13.
