NBA Betting Predictions January 8

The Raptors did not come through for me last night losing an embarrassing one in Philadelphia. Not off to a great start, but I will hopefully turn it around tonight with two strong plays. The season record to date is (0-1) for -1.10 units.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Washington Wizards

Minnesota is arguably one of the most exciting teams to watch this year. Whether its Kevin Love’s astounding all round game or Ricky Rubio’s unbelievable passes, this is one unique team. The Timberwolves are still in a transitional phase trying to find their winning identity. And thus have started a less than impressive 2 and 5. However their two wins came against San Antonio and Dallas. They also lost by a bucket to Miami. When this team puts it together its going to be dangerous. Washington is the only winless team in the NBA, and their ugly streak is going to continue for at least one more game. When nothing is going the way you want, even a point guard of John Wall’s caliber can’t right the ship.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Portland Trailblazers

The Cavaliers actually have a winning record to the surprise of most. When their schedule is examined their record is a little less impressive. The Cavs have beat New Jersey, Charlotte, Minnesota, and Detroit, not exactly high quality wins. The Trailblazers have come out strong despite the incredibly sad retirement of Brandon Roy and starting off sans Greg Oden too. They’ve had big wins early and are great at home. The Portland fans will keep the players focused on absolutely thumping the Cavs.
